Cost Analyst

Responsibilities:
Calculate budget and actual results for material consumption and sales.
Support analysis of material usage and sales price variances.
Work with Purchasing to understand and document changes to material prices and impact profit point.
Support transition to new financial system.
Support Accounting projects and business plan activity as needed.
Perform monthly close responsibilities related to sales and materials and present results to management.
Perform sales and material analysis for five budget events each year and present results to management.
Daily Tasks:
Work with Purchasing and Accounting team members to perform variance analysis between budget and actual results.
Prepare budgets and calculate actual results.
Work with SAP team to support transition activities/process change activity.
Support other Accounting business plan activities/reporting.
Support annual inventory activities.
Create and present the report of results to Accounting Management.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 months experience in an Accounting related field.
Knowledge:
Understanding of basic accounting principles / GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Understanding of manufacturing accounting.
Strong computer and communication skills.
Desire to learn and work in a team environment.
Required Skills:
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of computer based Accounting Systems.
Work independently.
Data analysis.
Strong analytical skills and understanding of complex relationships in cost.
Interpersonal skill to work across departments.
Good problem solving skills, including application of countermeasures.
Strong organizational skills.
Desired Skills:
Base understanding of Accounting systems (Essbase, SAP).
Base understanding of query tools (Business Objects, Access).
Manufacturing experience.
Degree:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relative field required.
Positions Factors:
Ability to work in an open office environment.
Ability to work with other Honda departments.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
